Favorite movies

“The Great Gatsby” by Baz Luhrmann is one of my favorite movie because of those fantastic and imaginary elements that are used along the story. The genre of it is drama and the director choose to gather multiple themes to criticize the capitalist and consumer society of this time. First of all, the overview of all the diverse love that can exist and their aims since many love stories are occurring a lot with passion, and relationship between all the characters and a specific point on the Women in general. Moreover, the theme about the wealth is obvious, we have a specific point of view on the wealth that rich people used to have at this period and the director chooses to enhance it through many dress-up parties in luxurious locations. As far as I am concerned, I was very impressed by this film, firstly on a technical point. Indeed, the way the director directed it was very extraordinary, we are surprised in each scenes, it is very spectacular with all those colors, effects, different lightings... The other point is the final word of the story, we have a description of the real “ rich” world that some people are living whereas others are not. Every details and characters of this movie is rambunctious and we like it because it creates something special and pleasant to watch . Finally, the cast is incredible Leonardo Dicaprio brings so much energy and specific elements to the story as well as the others.

Secondly the message brought through the movie “ Point Break” by Kathryne Bigelow has been something very significant for me since I understand after that we are all strong and intelligent enough to achieve our dreams. This is an old action-crime film who grab the attention of his audience by a very impressive storytelling which bring people toward different mindsets. Why I like watching this movie ? Firstly, I think the fact that we are in two opposite life style : surfer crew/ bank robber, grab my attention and the way the director choose to show it is very authentic and intriguing. In addition, all the characters are so talented and bring us a batch of emotions such as suspense, confusion, sadness, anger... when a movie gets all of that it's create our own personal imagines and opinion of the life in general. Finally, cinematographically many points have to be raised because it is made through an old style, the color are darker, the images are dreamy especially all the moments when they are surfing but all those elements create something different that we are are not used to. I fully recommend this movie !

“ Room “ directed by Lenny Abrahamson is an overwhelming drama/thriller story which create a real pity, sadness but also a revolting feeling. Diverse themes are gathered such as fear, time, education, family, freedom and confinement... Most of the scenes are only in a room with few accessories and two awesome actors, nevertheless the story and the emotions that we feel during this artwork has been one of the most impressive that I have never seen. The director and the screenwriter made an outstanding work. First of all, the way the color and the diverse shots that've been chosen make the movie at the upper level because we can feel the sensation that the characters are going through and we are living the moment with them. When I am watching this movie I am always talking to myself like I am talking to the actors directly...

The principal actress, Brie Larson, is sincerely one of the best actress I have never seen. I am impressed by her talent and the way she makes people perceive her character is extraordinary. This role was for her and I really think that she offers to the movie a huge plus ! Finally, in this movie I have been very attracted by the music because it brings something different and add a better emotions such as the suspense that we can feel along the story.
