Living a dream far from home...

After living 18 years in France with only one specific dream which is being an actress and discovering the city of angel, I decided to fulfill it and bring all of my luggages with me toward Los Angeles, USA.

But before taking this hard decision of leaving family, friends, traditions, routine etc I tried to start step by step which is obviously speaking English. Hence, just after high school at 18 years old I left for London where I spent one year improving my english and starting to think about the future which was the most exciting part... Well, the first step is over we must continue !

Second step: visiting Los Angeles for few months in order to be sure if it is the right place for me since I won't leave to an unknown city for years if I don't feel alright. I had the opportunity to discover L.A for 3 months where I literally felt in love with this amazing and surprising city. I was impressed and amazed in front of each places, I was breathing the air of my dream and I will never forget this moment...

Third step: Let's go, it is just the beginning ! I have been dreaming of living in Los Angeles and doing acting over there for all my life and I am right now writing to you how it has been possible. I could say it is a successful achievement. I hope for each of you to be able one day to have the opportunity to begin your dream...

UCLA Extension has been the start point of everything. Before all, let's make a quick overall of UCLA Extension :

Ucla Extension is a chance for you as foreigners to study your field in Los Angeles for a minimum of one year under a student visa. You will have the possibility to improve your English in general but also in your specific field which is a huge positive point on your resume. Finally, after the completion of the certificate of your choice, it will may possible for you to continue your adventure thanks to an OPT ( one year of internship or job in your field ).

That is all, I hope it was quick and clear !!

Let's go back ! So, the result of my TOEFL Exam is positive ( 86/100 ), I am definitely admise at UCLA Extension, I can celebrate my new life !! Then, all the administrative papers, appointments at the embassy in Paris, plane tickets, rent an apartment... Everything is done, we are the 10th September 2019 and I am ready to leave.

I am right now studying acting at Los Angeles, the beginning of a new life far from home which is hard but it is only for a good reason. During this year, I spent my time learning new skills, methods, meetings fantastics people, having the opportunity to see how an American movie was made ... All those things that I would have never lived if I had stayed in France. The life over there is in another dimension, everything is big, people are different than in France, multiple jobs opportunities are offered but without forgetting the amount of people who are looking for the same objective, so be careful !!

My year in UCLA Extension is almost over but my OPT is not and I will never let that chance pass... So I will keep you in touch with my next adventure in Los Angeles !
